If you own an iPhone, we suggest you try Pushme.to for iPhone, since it's free. If you own an iPad too, you can purchase the Pushme.to HD version and set up the same account on your iPad.
Your friends do not necessarily have to have an iPhone or any mobile phone to talk to you. You can read and send messages both from iPhone/iPad or the web.
We want to offer an ad-free experience, and making it paid is the only way to do it.
Yes, you can. The messages to your account will be delivered to both iPhone and iPad. If you are annoyed by the sound of both devices, you can selectively turn off the sound for Pushme.to notifications on one of the devices. Go to Settings → Notifications → Pushme.to → Sounds off. Just remember that the notifications have to stay on, you are turning off only the sound alerts for new messages.
We really have to eat. :) We told before that the app will be ad-supported. We aim to deliver iAD only, but for now we have to show other ads too, since iAD is only warming up. In the future, you will see less ugly ads in Pushme.to and only sleek and unobtrusive ones. You can remove the banners forever for a ridiculous amount of money.
You can safely tap "remove ads" again under the same AppStore account and you will not be charged twice. Contact us at support@pushme.to should you have any questions.
Pushme.to is a service that is available not only to iPhone/iPad owners, but anyone who wants to send them free instant messages using only a web browser. When using the web browser to send and receive messages, the user is only "online" as long as he has the http://pushme.to/q/ page open and is logged in.
If the contact has already sent you a message, open it and click the "link"
button in the upper right corner. Then choose if you want to create a new entry in your
iPhone Address Book or choose an existing contact. Choosing an existing contact will also
import his picture to Pushme.to, both on iPhone/iPad and on the web. If the contact has never sent you a
message, you can use the compose screen to message him first, or go to your
iPhone Address Book and manually enter his nickname.
This could be due to a number of reasons:
You can register to Pushme.to service by downloading the application from the AppStore (iPhone, iPad) and enjoy the full Pushme.to functionality. Otherwise, when you are talking to one of your friends, click "register" above to save your messages, set your picture and welcome message. The web registration is free and meant for those who don't own an iPhone/iPad. Pushme.to users will not be able to send you instant messages when you are offline, if you don't own an iPhone/iPad.
To use it on device, you need to have an iPhone/iPad or iPod Touch running iOS 4.0 or higher and Push Notifications enabled. Pushme.to uses your data connection when you open the application to get messages, and push notifications service to deliver the messages when the application is closed. Keep in mind that Apple Notification Services rely on your cellular data connection. To use it on the web you need nothing but a browser, and maybe a friend who uses it on iPhone/iPad, with whom to talk to. ;)
You download the Pushme.to application from the AppStore (iPhone, iPad) and register to the service, choosing a nickname that will be part of your link http://pushme.to/nickname/. Now you can put this link on your blog, send via email or SMS to your friends and you can start exchanging real-time messages for free.
The messages are free, unlike SMS, and arrive immediately after being sent. The other party does not have to have an iPhone/iPad or even register — they just open your page and you start talking in real time. This is a great time saver, since your iPhone/iPad party is "always online", so it's just like an SMS. Also, we put you messages inbox "in the cloud", and should you not have your iPhone/iPad with you, you can always send and receive messages using your browser.
It's better if you install it, but if you really want to (it will not be as pretty) - open http://pushme.to/nickname/ link in MobileSafari.
Go to "compose" screen and start typing the nick or name of your contact — it will appear below. Tap to compose. Note: you can also tap those links in the iPhone/iPad Address Book or click on the same link on a Mac computer using our Mac Companion application.
Not for now. We might introduce multiple accounts for imaginary friends later. ;)
Just remove the application from your iPhone/iPad and install again. You will be asked to register or login. Make a new registration.
No, they won't — you will be able to read them when you login with your old nickname.
You can delete the whole conversation on your iPhone/iPad and on the web, separately.
No, once you have the application, there are no other costs. You can send and receive as many messages as you like.
Yes it does. However iPod touch doesn't maintain constant connectivity to Apple Push Notification servers so messages are not going to be delivered instantly.
"Push me, too".
